

{"id":1822,"date":"2024-03-17T10:57:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-17T09:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shiftermanagement.be\/?p=1822"},"modified":"2025-03-22T12:33:48","modified_gmt":"2025-03-22T11:33:48","slug":"tour-de-la-position-fortifiee-de-namur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shiftermanagement.be\/?p=1822","title":{"rendered":"VTT\/Gravel : Tour de la position fortifi\u00e9e de Namur"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Je ne fais pas partie de la caste des \u00ab&nbsp;graveleux&nbsp;\u00bb mais il faut bien reconna\u00eetre que, lors des saisons pluvieuses, un bon circuit de gravel n\u2019est pas \u00e0 n\u00e9gliger, m\u00eame sur un vtt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela faisait d\u00e9j\u00e0 quelques temps que la th\u00e9matique de la <strong><u>position fortifi\u00e9e de Namur<\/u><\/strong> me travaillait et j\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de tracer un circuit (deux, dans les faits) de gravel\/vtt qui passe(nt) par chacun des neufs forts de Namur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le circuit des forts par la face nord est exigeant mais il ne propose pas de difficult\u00e9 insurmontable pour un gravel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai volontairement choisi de couper ce tour en deux parties, une au nord (6 forts) et l\u2019autre au sud (3 forts). <\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Petit cours d\u2019histoire.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les forts de la position fortifi\u00e9e de Namur ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits \u00e0 partir de 1888 par le G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Brialmont. Le but \u00e9tait que Namur soit entour\u00e9e et prot\u00e9g\u00e9e d\u2019une ceinture constitu\u00e9e de forts dont chacun serait \u00e0 port\u00e9e de tir de ses voisins afin d\u2019assurer une protection maximale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A l\u2019\u00e9poque, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construits en b\u00e9ton non arm\u00e9 et \u00e9quip\u00e9s de canons permettant de r\u00e9sister aux obus fran\u00e7ais et allemands de l\u2019\u00e9poque. Il faut se rappeler qu\u2019\u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode la Belgique \u00e9tait neutre et que sa protection se dirigeait autant vers l\u2019Allemagne que vers la France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le massif central de chaque fort \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de murs de 3 \u00e0 4 m\u00e8tres d\u2019\u00e9paisseur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019un point de vue militaire, ces forts n\u2019\u00e9taient destin\u00e9s qu\u2019\u00e0 tenir le temps que la mobilisation soit compl\u00e8te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1914, quand les allemands nous sont pass\u00e9s dessus, ils ne se sont pas content\u00e9s d\u2019arriver avec des saucisses de Frankfort et des obus de 21 cm mais avec d\u2019autres de \u2026 42 cm (les grosses Berta) qui pesaient plus de 800 kg.
